Richard’s editing career began in Hollywood, working as a runner on a network tv sitcom where he became drawn to narrative storytelling— particularly through editing. Intrigued by how editors could craft actors’ performances and execute ‘the final rewrite’, he became an assistant editor. It wasn’t long before he was flying solo, working with leading showrunners and directors on such classics as Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, The Simpsons and The Drew Carey Show.
Now living in Vancouver, B.C., Richard’s resume ranges from independent features to docu-series and most everything in between. His broad experience allows him to move fluidly between genres, approaching each new project with an arsenal of storytelling skills and a zeal for fresh challenges.
Over the course of his career, he’s had the good fortune to have collaborated with such notable talents as David Steinberg, Nora Ephron, Jason Alexander, Penny Marshall and the Farrelly brothers.
Richard’s interests include adventure travel, the great outdoors, Nola Jazz Fest and like any skilled editor worth their salt, finding the best spots for lunch.
